Work Out of the Week (WOW)
Welcome to your WOW! A WOW is a short workout such as a tabata, strength training, stretching or stress management exercises that you can do in just a few minutes in your office or over your lunch hour. WOWs are a great way for you to stay on top of your exercise or emotional wellness program. Every week a new WOW will be added to keep you on your toes and excited!! So check back often to maximize your wellness program.
Upright Lift
Lateral Raise
May is finally here! We will perform weighted exercises for this month’s WOW’s. You don’t need fancy gym equipment or a membership to perform these exercises. You can find anything around the home or office to use as resistance. Performing these exercises will help build muscle and sculpt your body.
Exercise: Lateral raise
How to perform: Raise the weight laterally and keep your elbow straight.
Duration: Perform for 10 repetitions and repeat on right and left side.
Bicep Curl
May is finally here! We will perform weighted exercises for this month’s WOW’s. You don’t need fancy gym equipment or a membership to perform these exercises. You can find anything around the home or office to use as resistance. Performing these exercises will help build muscle and sculpt your body.
Exercise: Bicep curl.
How to perform: Curl the weight up to your shoulder by bending your elbow.
Duration: Perform for 10 repetitions and repeat on right and left side.
Spinal Twist
Happy April! This month’s WOW’s is to stretch out your lower back. Adding these stretches throughout the day will help with opening up your lower back and improving your hip mobility.
Exercise: Spinal twist.
How to perform: Sit up tall and place your left foot on the outside of your right knee. Place your right elbow to your left knee and position the left hand at the base of your spine. Twist and look over your shoulder to stretch your lower back and abdominals.
Duration: Hold for 20 to 30 seconds and repeat on both right and left side.
